These artisan-created boxes use time-honored Renaissance recipes for gessoes, antiquing, lacquers and varnishes. Each box displays a scene on the lid as well as a  landscape scene or other artwork around the sides. The bottom is stained, shellacked and hand burnished with a traditional agate stone. Some box lids are gilded and antiqued. Each unique box is signed by the artist. No box is ever repeated.

Yes, the above box is painted . This rhodochrosite faux marble box has been sold. You can have your own, though. Commission any marble  look you want!

FAUX MARBLE BOXES

Malachite, lapis lazuli, jade, rhodochrosite, etc. Any marble can be reproduced on a Designer Box.
